High Concept and High Touch

Hight concept is "the capacity to detect patterns and opportunities, to create artistic and emotional beauty, to craft a satisfying narrative, and to combine seemingly unrelated ideas into something new. "

High touch is "the ability to emphasize with others, to understand the subtleties of human interaction, to find joy in one's self and to elicit it in others, and to stretch the quotidian in pursuit of purpose and meaning."

Do you value these qualities in an employee? More and more people are. I'd advise that you consider these when you are looking for new employees. You'll be glad you did especially if you've read any of my post on the circle of marketing.

You can read all about it in Daniel H. Pink's book A Whole New Mind. I highly recommend that you do.

I believe that these are very strong qualities in a person. If i was a boss of a company. These would be what I looked for in my employees. Being a people person is one of the strongest qualities you can have. Bartley Williams

I think they are both inportant i any one we need just the right balance of both, we need to be able to think on are own and come up with are ideas for are self , but at the same time we need to be willing to look at what others have to say and take there thouhts in it can help all of us if we take ideas and make them better together. christian fonnesbeck

This article is very true and I believe these qualities are important for both an employee to know and understand and also for the employer to know and understand.

Too be able to empathize with a person who is having a problem is vary important. I once worked for a inbound call support center, and it was amazing to see peoples attitude change over the course of the call as you helped them with they’re problem and related similar experiences in you’re life, they came to trust you and that made the work that much easier.
