Providing More Content On The Web

Have you looked at websites that want to sell products and noticed that they don't give any information for you, the customer, to make an educated buying decision?

There are many lessons to learn from these sites that do a poor job of promoting their products. And many lessons to learn from those who do a good job of using the web for what it is used for.

Here is a good example.
Here you can see the additional information provided to help the customer make an educated buying decision.

Here is a typical example. Here is what most customers see. A few bullet points. A photo and a buy now button. Who can make an educated buying decision with this type of content? No one.

You decide. The web is used by most people for research! Are you providing them with quality information that they can use to make an educated buying decision? They want it and more and more people are providing it.

Ask yourself, "Does the info on our website lead our customer to buying our product?"

See some examples of ways to lower your customers buying risk here.

The way you present your product is indeed very vital. I like to have as much information about a product I am interested in buying. A company will only help themselves if they succeed in better websites that promote their product.

I agree. Most of the time when I want to buy something on-line, I get to a point where no further information is available. This is very frustrating. I usually will go to a different website that sells the same thing and if I get more information from the second website, I buy it from them. I wish more companies selling products on-line would make as much information available as possible. It would help customer satisfaction, because a customer would know all there is to know about a product prior to purchase.

I find that it is difficult to shop on-line for that reason. I’m a person that likes to have info about what I’m buying, to see what it comes with and why it costs what it does. And when there is little to no good info about a product, it just turns me away from buying it.

when it comes to purchasing a product online i like to have the most information available and i wont buy the product untill i get my questions answered. it would be very usedfull for a website to take the time and creat a questions and answer link.

I agree that the way the product is represented on the internet is very important. I find sometimes it is very hard to shop online. Especially for clothes. I like to be able to try something on before i buy it. I have seen some places that actually tell you how their "medium" is going to fit though. Giving more detail will definetly help you make a sell.

This is one of the main reasons I don't shop online because I usually will find this problem then if I do decide to buy it and it is not what I wanted than it is my own fault for not finding out more about it. I think if businesses would write more about their products it would help them out quite a bit, but at the same time don't be too wordy and loose your customer.

Usualy I'm not satisfied with web promotions, they don't give enough information and I woud like to know more if I'm buying somthing, that is why I never buy anythin online.

The way information is posted on a website can have a big impact on peoples opinions about the items presented. In my opinion the higher quality that the website is and the more design that goes into as well as information can tell you whether you are going to be getting a good product of not.
